Back in Bangkok

We are back in action after a great trip home for my sister's wedding. We only got to stay in Colorado for a few days but we wouldn't have missed it for the world. Annie and our new brother-in-law Parker are lounging on a beach somewhere in the Dominican, and Michelle and I are just about recovered from the 60+ hour travel-time last weekend.

Since we are a bit behind in our weekly blog entries, we wanted to share a few photos from the last few weeks. In one of our weekly adventures we went to a bar on the top of the Sukhumvit Marriott, one of the tallest buildings in the city. The atmosphere was incredible, great music (not too loud) and lounge chairs atop the breezy skyscraper. We could see all the way across the city, and caught a fireworks show over what appeared to be a miniature theme park in Chinatown.

We also wanted to share a bit about Michelle's school. Unfortunately we can't post any pictures of her adorable children, but you can see some of the materials that they work with every day. Her classroom teaches in three languages: English (the "primary" target language), Mandarin Chinese and Thai. Many of her children speak a fourth language at home (Hindi, Urdu, Korean, French, etc), so there are a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds running around Bangkok speaking 4 languages (not bad for that age).

Annie and Parker invited us to sing at their wedding, and Parker's talented sister Hannah danced while we performed an acoustic version of I Choose You by Sara Bareilles (one of our favorites). We wanted a version they could keep, so here is a link to the song!
